Around and About

Leisure time spent at Ashbourne Heights offers a multitude of activities on the park. The surrounding Derbyshire countryside provides breathtaking landscapes, like at nearby Dove Dale, or picturesque villages like Tissington. There is an outstanding cultural and historical heritage. Nearby are historic properties, a World Heritage Site at Derwent Valley Mills and many more indoor and outdoor activities attractions and locations, to make your stay as energetic or as relaxed as you like.

The 13 mile Tissington Trail, a scenic cycling or walking route running from Ashbourne to Parsley Hay following the old Buxton to Ashbourne railway is in close proximity and was established by the Peak District National Park.

Further afield, the whole of the National Park extends northwards from Ashbourne Heights into beautiful undulating hills and quaint villages to the heights of the Dark Peak and magnificent mountain scenery; it’s a walkers paradise, whatever your ability. Rambling, cycling or horse-riding through stunning countryside is on offer, without the interference of cars, pollution or noise. Does it appeal?
